Have you ever read a book that radically changed your life? Did you feel like you have to share it with everyone you meet because you know it will change their lives as well? That’s exactly what happened with me and my next guest, Nikisha King-Hidalgo! I’m not only glad that she’s here to discuss the book, A Happy Pocket Full of Money,  and how you can apply it to your own life. But I’m also super grateful that she introduced me to it! If you’re someone who dreams of achieving your goals, but gets hung up wondering how to make them happen, then this episode – and book – is for you.

Nikisha King-Hidalgo, the Creative Director and Owner of Nikisha King (NK) Design House, specializes in custom illustration design. NK Design House’s goal is to provide unique and memorable details for wedding and event planners, businesses, and consumers through illustrated design pieces.

In addition to running her illustration design business, Nikisha uses her years of learning and experience via her Master’s Degrees in Public Health (MPH) and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration to create a community of business owners and provide guidance in helping them create efficient processes in their business(es). The program she created is called The Focus Formula, where she mentors business owners in learning new business perspectives and streamlining their business(es). Throughout the program, every mentee is guided to improve their processes no matter what stage of their business they are in. As a result, the mentee will create an efficient business process that allows them to meet the demand of their clients, all while spending quality time with their loved ones.

Besides running an illustration business and a mentoring program, Nikisha is a family woman who enjoys spending her weekends with her family. She recognizes the importance of streamlining her business to keep everything running smoothly, including her family life.

If you want to operate your life and business from an abundant mindset rather than one of scarcity, this book will open your eyes to so many things! In this episode, Nikisha dives into what this book is about, why it was so life-changing for us, and how it can be for you, too.

Highlights from this episode with Nikisha King-Hidalgo include:

  • Nikisha’s introduction to A Happy Pocket Full of Money (4:07)
  • The book and the impact it had on Nikisha (8:04)
  • Gratitude and abundance (14:17)
  • There’s only the present, giving and receiving (23:18)
  • Reframing fear (31:19)
  • Part of the certainty (45:48)
  • Declaring your goals 50:37)

I had so much fun chatting with Nikisha about A Happy Pocket Full of Money in part one of this conversation! The most important lesson I learned from this episode was to stop being so focused on the how, because when you are, you block your intuition. There are so many more amazing insights to come in part two of this conversation. But in the meantime, have you ordered the book yet? Send me a DM me on Instagram and let me know which of the six tips you plan to focus on this month.

Thank you for tuning into the Build that Business podcast. Please follow, share if you enjoyed the show, and leave a review on Apple or Spotify so others can find us who are ready to build a business and generate profits without burnout!
