Do you find yourself saying “Yes” to any and all potential clients just to pay the bills? Even when you know, they’re not going to be a great fit for you? I get it! I’ve felt that pressure and I’ve been there. My guest, Chanda Daniels, has been there too and knows firsthand how limiting it can be for your career. While finding and sticking to a niche can be hard, it is one of the most important things that you can do for your business.
Chanda is not only my new Business Bestie, but the owner and creative director of Chanda Daniels Planning and Design and the founder of A Monique Affair Wedding and Event Coordination. She was named 2020’s top wedding planner and is a nationally recognized expert in LGBTQ+ wedding planning. Chanda truly loves what she does and uses her knowledge and experience to provide education to her industry while championing the cause of diversity and inclusion.
In this episode, Chanda and I discuss why you need to get over the fear of niching down and how your own negative experiences can help you find a specialty that inspires passion. She shares strategies to help you position your business so that you can say no to clients that aren’t right for you, and explains why that will help both you and them. Chanda also tells us the best ways to get the word out about your business and its focus. .
