Episode #48 : Build The Business Podcast

Welcome to the build that business podcast, episode number 48 with Jenna Kutcher! I am so excited to introduce you to your new digital marketing best friend – she really needs no introduction but here it is:

She’s a mom of two, the host of the Goal Digger podcast, author, educator, and the one helping us ask better questions, Jenna Kutcher. In today’s episode, we dug into topics like how to take a leap of faith, how a season of hustle got her to the harvest she has today (I asked if she would’ve done anything differently as she built her empire), and how to learn to listen to your intuition… we covered it ALL just for your ears today.

In her debut book, “How Are You Really?” Jenna goes a step further with the question all of us seem to skim past.

When someone asks “How are you?” … I’m going to guess that you reply with “Fine, Good, Great, Hanging in there!” I know, I’m guilty of it too. But Jenna added one simple word that can change everything – that can start us on a path to creating our own truly fulfilled life. She asks, “How are you, really?”

What if we stopped ourselves and truthfully answered that question? What truths might we uncover? Jenna pulls back the layers and shows us how to find that answer. And how to create the future we want with the tools we have – by getting to know the most important person on the journey – ourselves.

The book releases June 28th but if you’re tuning in before then, you can preorder now at howareyoureallybook.com (and snag her amazing pre-order bonuses).

Oh, and Jenna and I have an extra special treat for you. We’re giving away 10 copies of the book! All you need to do is screenshot yourself listening and tag Jenna and I. I’ll draw the winners on Launch day (June 28th)

Without further ado – let’s welcome Ms. Jenna Kutcher to the show!

Ready to dive in? In today’s episode, we’ll cover:

  1. How to take a leap of faith when you don’t have the security cushion of your 9-5 (maybe due to the pandemic, recession, lay offs).
  2. Is hustle really a dirty word? I asked Jenna about her seasons of hustle as she built her empire and if she would do anything differently today.
  3. How to trust your intuition. Jenna teaches us how to listen to our own voice and how to make decisions that align with our values and goals for our life.

Most wedding professionals focus on perfecting their product, marketing, and social media - which are all important. But what’s even more important is the way you and your business makes people feel.

When faced with decisions like:-
🔸 Do I reprint after the couple made a spelling error?
🔸 The mother of the bride needs a little bit of extra help... do I take the time?
🔸 One of my brides is having a hell of a week. How can I cheer her up?

... Do you hesitate or jump in to help? You might feel like you don’t have the cash to “not think about profit”, or if you spend too much time with a client they’re “disrespecting your boundaries”.

I get it. But I also know that as a heart-centered entrepreneur you know in your gut what you need to do and how you need to operate your business.

I have created a workshop to show you a customer service approach that many people talk about, but few actually practice. It’s called People over Profit: The Customer Service Approach That Grew My Business To $300k, and enrollment is now open.

So, if you’re ready to embrace a new way of doing business as a heart-centered entrepreneur - then sign up at LindsayJWilliams.com/AugustWorkshop (link in our bio)

Jamison’s getting tubes in his ears tomorrow ❤️🙏🏻 This mama is a bundle of nerves but I know this will help with his hearing and speech. He’ll be two next month and hasn’t started talking yet but he’s trying so hard!

Then, in two weeks I have my tonsils out and deviated septum done (in the same surgery).

A father-son duo is doing both of our surgeries. The father is doing Jamison’s tomorrow, and the son will do mine at the end of the month. We were there for Jamison’s pre-op this week and I said “your son is doing my tonsils in a couple weeks!” And all he said was “oh that hurts like hell” 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Has anyone gotten either procedure done? Any tips? Help ease my nerves tonight! 🙏🏻❤️

I’ve invited my dear friend Ashley on the show today to talk about building a team. Because, if I had to guess, it’s something that you might not have thought about yet
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know a lot of us are solopreneurs in the wedding industry - myself included! So I wanted to bring a different perspective to the podcast today, because I LOVE learning from brilliant minds like Ashley and I told her about us…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She knows that a lot of our community are mighty teams of one and bringing on a team can be a little nerve wrecking. So we talk about the opportunity vs. risk, how to afford hiring a team, and how to know when you’re ready.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re at the stage in your business where you’re thinking about maybe bringing on some help but you’re hesitant because of the cost, time, effort, I want you to check this episode out. It might not be as scary as we both thought ;)
